Hello, Nollan!

I want to be the first to welcome you to the I Section and to Lund, but above all to the gateway that is the Nollning. This gateway leads to the best year of your life and to a place in Sweden's most sought-after engineering programme, as well as the country's unquestionably best student section. On the 20th of August, you will stand at the threshold of this gateway.

I expect you to be nervous — we are many who have stood where you are standing now — but you can feel reassured that you are eagerly awaited. For months, the I guild has been preparing for your arrival to give you the best possible welcome to Lund. During an intense month, you will get to know your fellow classmates under circumstances you could never have imagined. You will be swept into a hypnotic blend of parties, formal dinners, performances, trips, dancing, competitions, and study evenings. Much of it will feel new, perhaps even surreal, but there will be many of us to guide you by the hand on your journey from Nollan to International Student.

 

It is worth mentioning that the Nollning is entirely voluntary, and you will never be forced to do anything you are not comfortable with. There are plenty of support resources both within the section and throughout Lund, and the 174 Nollning officials will do everything we can to surround you with the warmth of the guild.

This guide contains useful information about life in Lund and what lies ahead, but the hypnosis you step into on the 20th of August simply cannot be described in words. I therefore encourage you to arrive with an open mind, a great sense of curiosity, and, perhaps most importantly, just as you are.
